The Training Workshop takes place on 14th & 15th January 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City and provides Vietnamese wind power companies with key concepts, case studies, and practical cash flow modelling tools that are required for investments into wind power.

Supported by the Project Development Programme under the “renewables – Made in Germany” initiative by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is organizing a two-day training workshop on Cash Flow Modelling for Vietnamese Wind Power projects. About 30 participants, including representatives from private sectors such as financial institutions, project developers and contractors as well as specialists from governmental agencies in the field of renewable energy and specifically wind energy, participate in the workshop. The workshop aims to enhance capacity, exchange experiences and increase collaboration among agencies and stakeholders in Vietnam that are working on or oriented towards renewable energy development.

The workshop is conducted by Dr. Dominik Dersch, a certified Professional Risk Manager (PRM), managing director and co-founder of Matobis AG, and freelance risk management and Renewable Energy (RE) consultant. He is a member of the ‘Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA) and was PRMIA global board member from 2011-2014. His key qualifications comprise financial due diligence, financial modelling and structuring of renewable energy projects (wind, solar photovoltaic, hydro power, biomass and geothermal power).

Following the one-week business trip of eight German companies of the wind energy sector to Vietnam in November 2015, the Cash Flow Modelling Training Workshop in January 2016 is the next event organized by GIZ on behalf of the Project Development Programme under the “renewables – Made in Germany” initiative. Under this framework, partnerships are forged between German and Vietnamese companies in the renewable energy sector.
