That is just one out of many captivating questions that were somewhat solved in an article by Tia Sang magazine, interviewing a GIZ’s team leader of 4E project. Looking at the recent scenario where the total installed capacity of solar power has been soaring from zero to over 10GW – ranking second in Southeast Asia, Ms. Vu Chi Mai* has discussed the following topics:
- The production price of solar power is as competitive as that of coal power but the transmission cost of the cheap solar energy is not cheap. Why?
- Is it true that Viet Nam’s power grid system has long been outdated and the upgrading is still too late?
- Should the country invest in smart grid yet or is the expansion on grids enough?
