The declining cost of solar PV has made it the world’s most affordable power source, with Viet Nam well-positioned for solar expansion due to local production, low labor costs, and abundant solar radiation.
Following the installation of over 16 GW of solar capacity under the Feed-in Tariff (FIT), including 7.6 GW from rooftop solar (RTS), further regulations are expected to drive the next phase of solar market development.
The National Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8) seeks to revitalize rooftop solar by targeting 50% of residential and public buildings for self-consumption systems, with new mechanisms promoting compensation for surplus RTS electricity.
💡 Join us for an insightful webinar where experts from the GIZ Energy Support Programme (GIZ ESP) will present findings from their latest study “Techno-economic potential of solar PV for self-consumption in residential and public buildings in Vietnam” and discover how this aligns with PDP8 and net-zero targets.
📅 When: October 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Vietnam (ICT time)
