Review Conference 2021: the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community

Today, 22 February 2022, the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community (VEECOM) held the 2021 Review Conference and the spring meeting with VEECOM members.

The conference was organized in a hybrid format with nearly 80 attendees, who are energy managers, energy auditors in businesses, government representatives, and lecturers from universities in the field of energy.

The event was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep – Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Vietnam Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Association (VECEA), and Mr. Markus Bissel – Head of Energy Efficiency Component – 4E Project of GIZ.

At the conference, the management board of VEECOM gave an overview on the operation of VEECOM in the past year. Throughout 2021, VEECOM has continuously developed and updated its categories, perfected its operating regulations, and regularly held weekly and monthly contests to increase interaction between members. The management team also regularly shares specialized articles, project information, topics of energy-using facilities across the country; promote cooperation with partners who are service providers, energy efficiency technology (energy efficiency) and other partners in the energy industry.

Also at the event, the organizers awarded the 10 best members of VEECOM. They have been active and have made outstanding contributions to the foundation and development of the forum.

VEECOM was launched on 1 April, 2021. This is considered as the first platform in Viet Nam to aggregate and update the latest knowledge and information on Energy Efficiency. VEECOM was built and developed within the framework of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (4E) Project, with an aim to provide reliable information on energy efficiency policies, technologies, equipment and services, thereby contribute to understanding improvement, awareness and practice on economical and efficient use of energy in production and business activities for those directly related to this field.
