Doan Tran Thao Nguyen joined the Energy Support Program in October 2022. She is working as a Project Officer in the Project Development Programme. Prior to GIZ, Thao Nguyen worked for Netherlands Consulate in HCMC. She holds a Master’s degree in Urban Management from Technical University of Berlin, Germany.

Pham Thanh Hai joined the Energy Support Program in July 2022. He is working as a Project Officer in the Project Development Programme. Prior to GIZ, Thanh Hai worked for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from HCMC Transport University.

Tran Thi Bich Phuong
Junior Energy Advisor/SHIFT
Bich Phuong joined GIZ on October 1st 2020 as National Intern for the Energy Efficiency component of the 4E project. She is currently in her 2nd year of a Master’s Degree in International Material Flow Management offered by the Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Before that, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and worked in Azbil Corporation in Japan, focusing on building automation system and ESCO business. She hopes to gain valuable experiences and insights of the energy market while contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam via her work in GIZ.

Nguyen Duy Linh
Energy Advisor/CASE
Linh is a dynamic force driving the energy transition in Southeast Asia, along with his teammates in the transformative CASE project. Linh brings over two years of experience as a Portfolio Manager at GIZ Vietnam, where he supported the development of a portfolio of energy projects. His journey in the field of Government Affairs and Public Policy began at institutions like the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Vingroup. Linh holds a Bachelor’s in Geography from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Nguyen Thuy Ngan became a member of the Energy Support Program in July 2023. Prior to GIZ, Ngan gained valuable experience in the Marketing and Communications field, thriving in positions within various national and international organizations. Her expertise encompasses a wide array of skills, including a remarkable proficiency in data analytics, interpersonal communication abilities. She has a discerning eye for detail, and an unwavering dedication to fostering innovation. Ngan holds a bachelor’s degree in Media Research and Media Practices from the Technical University Dresden, Germany, and is fluent in Vietnamese, English, and German.

Nong Huong Lan
Junior Energy Advisor
Lan works as a Junior Project Officer for the Energy Partnership project and the gender focal point for the GIZ team with the coordination team of Vietnam Energy Women Network. Before joining GIZ, Lan had worked in various roles supporting project implementation, including Interpreter/ Project Assistant, Secretary and Project Admin Officer/Project Officer for several projects in the health, TVET and gender areas at different international organizations. She finished her Master Degree in Development Studies at the University of Melbourne and wishes to work more in depth in the gender and development area, learn from field experts and contribute to the empowerment of women and promotion of gender equality in Vietnam

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Linh is responsible for public relations, corporate branding and public awareness raising on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project including developing communication strategy and strategic work plan, media networking and cooperation as well as coordinating with partners for communications activities. Before GIZ, Ms. Ngoc Linh had 10 years of working in the private sector in a similar position. She has extensive experience in planning, developing and implementing PR strategies as well as coordinating to advocate for communications activities. She graduated from The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam before earning a Master’s Degree at Mod’Art International School in Paris, France.

She has nearly 15 years of diversified professional experience in communications, outreach activities and writing/editing. Before joining the ESP, she worked for international non-government organisations and donor-funded programmes in various sectors including energy efficiency, disaster relief and mitigation, health and education.

PR & Communications Specialist/TEV/PtX Outreach/Energy Partnership
Ha Anh joined Energy Support Program (ESP) in May 2019 and is in charge of supporting all communication-related tasks in project 4E. Before joining GIZ, she used to work as a PR & Communication intern at the Radisson Hotel Group in Brussels, Belgium and the Natural Habitat Group in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She holds a Master of Arts in International Communication from a joint program between Hanze University of Applied Science in the Netherlands and Leeds Beckett University in the UK. In 2015, Ha Anh graduated from Foreign Trade University in Hanoi with a Bachelor degree in International Economics and started her first job as Sales & Marketing Specialist at TOPICA Edtech Group.

Mr. Hiep assumed the position of a Communications Specialist at GIZ ESP office in May 2023. Before joining GIZ, he had worked as a TV reporter for 10 years. Hiep is interested in Vietnam’s SDGs, particularly in Green Growth, Sustainable Development, Circular Economy. Over the past 10 years, he has written articles and produced TV reportages on these topics in Viet Nam. Hiep has obtained an MA degree in Journalism, Media and Communications at Cardiff University, UK from 2021 to 2022. He was equipped with knowledge and skills to design and execute communications strategies for an organization in lines with their missions and vision.

PR & Communications Specialist/Designer
Quan is a Junior PR & Coms Officer and is responsible for managing the Progamme’s design and other visual related projects. Before becoming a member of GIZ, he had been working as a graphic designer for 5 years – Which provided him with ample experiences and knowledge in this particular field of visual communication. Quan spent his university years in the United States, not only for studying but also taking the chance to travel extensively. After graduating in 2016, feeling somewhat satiated with what he had learnt and seen, Quan decided to return to Vietnam to deepen his personal & professional experience within his home country.

Programme Specialist – Language Support Service and Knowledge Management
Mr. Truong Kien Trung joined GIZ in August 2021 as Programme Officer for Language Support Service and Knowledge Management. He is responsible for coordinating the technical works of the in-house translator team of the Energy Support Programme (ESP) and the external translation and interpretation services as well as the technical works of the ESP knowledge management officers.Trung has extensive experience within multiple industries with a focus on project management and program coordination. He has almost 10 years experience working on development projects for both governmental offices and non-governmental organizations and he also worked for 2 years as Senior Project Manager for an Indian company supplying equipment for hydropower projects in Vietnam. Trung graduated as a Water environment engineer from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and acquired a Graduate Diploma on Public Health from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.
