Livestock sector accounts for a large proportion in the economy and has the second largest greenhouse gas emission among agricultural activities in Viet Nam. Developing biogas models, particularly at medium and large scales, is a solution to environmental issues when fossil fuels will be exhausted and effects of climate change are increasing.

The research analyses potential and barriers to promoting the biogas technology and proposes proper measures .

Dr. Le Thi Thoa is co-author of the study. She is a senior official of the Climate Protection through Sustainable Bioenergy Markets in Viet Nam (BEM) project, which is part of GIZ Energy Support Programme.
