GIZ Energy Support Programme would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV) upon its recently awarded Labour medal of the second degree, a marked milestone of the authority’s 15 years of development.

In light of this event, Mr. Tobias Cossen – our Programme Director – expressed his delight in the journey of collaboration with ERAV, which was captured in the ‘ERAV – 15 years of development’ clip. He said: “We highly appreciate the technical expertise that is already available within the ERAV, especially in view of the dynamic power sector. It is a great pleasure and honor to work together with ERAV on this topic”.

Under Viet Nam and Germany’s bilateral technical cooperation, the GIZ Energy Support Programme and ERAV have been implementing the Smart Grids for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SGREEE) project since 2018. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the project aims at supporting the Government of Viet Nam in the implementation of its Smart Grid Roadmap to promote the modernization and automation of the national power transmission and distribution system. GIZ believes that the work of a regulator is very much crucial to a future successful development of the Vietnamese power sector.
