On August 7-8, 2024, the Energy Efficiency and Climate Club (EEC) Thai Nguyen and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) organised the second training about reducing energy consumption. 14 member businesses in Thai Nguyen and 19 member businesses in HCMC attended the training.

The training session covered two primary topics: energy efficiency potentials through using air compressors in production activities, and monitoring & evaluating energy consumption data in industrial facilities. German energy experts from Arqum consulting firm, BOGE – a global air compressor manufacturer, and Industrial Analytics – a Berlin-based company offering energy management technology solutions shared their knowledge and technology regarding these two topics.

This presents a unique opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to engage with German businesses, discussing their specific challenges in implementing energy efficiency measures in their respective industries, including production of cement, steel, textiles, electricity, beer, and milk, etc.

After the training, GIZ will conduct a survey among EEC members to identify their needs for support with energy audit and greenhouse gas inventory activities at their facilities. GIZ aims at executing these activities by the end of this year with collaboration from local and international experts.

Energy Support Programme initiated the EEC training, as part of the Bilateral Energy and Climate Partnership, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
