Yesterday, GIZ successfully hosted the first day of matchmaking events on setting up power plants using woody biomass in Viet Nam.

The event welcomed the participation of 31 representatives from investment and project development companies. Thereby, 6 international companies, 8 local companies, and representatives from a law firm and an engineering consultancy.

The representatives introduced their corporate profiles, past and on-going projects, and main criterion in selecting partners for biomass power sector in Viet Nam.

The event was wrapped up after many participants expressed further interests in knowing more about their peers’ views on developing biomass power. A second day of matchmaking will be held next week on Nov 11, in which interested parties are paired with each other for 20-minute discussion, allowing them to further connect on shared interests and pave the way for future collaboration.

GIZ will continue to support the collaboration between companies during and after the matchmaking events.

The events are part of GIZ’s “Climate Protection through Sustainable Bioenergy Markets in Viet Nam” project (BEM).
