A guest lecture on the development of renewable energy in Viet Nam will take place at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in Binh Duong tomorrow, October 23. Mr. Henri Wasnick – Senior Advisor for Renewable Energy at the Institute of Energy (IOE) will deliver the talk.

Henri is an international expert from the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM), which recruits and places highly qualified German and European experts provided that the skills being sought are not available in developing countries and emerging economies. CIM is jointly run by GIZ and the German Federal Employment Agency (BA), and its commission party is the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The IOE and VGU jointly organize the event. The former – a branch of the Ministry of Industry and Trade – is the country’s leading and fully licensed electrical engineering and consulting institution. Its renewable energy center is a key institution for technical support for the development of relevant projects in Viet Nam. Meanwhile, the latter is a Vietnamese public university which was found in March 2008 as a partnership between the two countries. Both the IOE and VGU are integrating CIM’s international experts.
