On 8th July 2020, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority (EREA)/Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam and GIZ were honored to welcome nearly 40 people in a webinar on such topic.

Guest speakers, Mr. Le Cong Doanh, EREA Official, and Mr. Tobias Cossen, GIZ Project Director, presented an overview of the Vietnamese Government’s investments into bioenergy and its role in the country’s sustainable energy transition and climate protection.

After the presentations, there was ample time for an enthusiastic discussion with all participants. Besides the updates and clarification on the new biomass FIT, there was great interest in the upcoming FIT for biogas that is being studied.

In the webinar, GIZ also announced the next B2B matchmaking event between stakeholders in September 2020. Due to the current pandemic situation, the event will likely be in virtual based.
