Vietnamese and International businesses engaged in Hydrogen discussion

Nearly 30 representatives of large domestic and international organisations actively engaged in Hydrogen discussion at the Vietnamese-German Workshop about strategies and partnerships in green hydrogen industry in Viet Nam on August 1. The event was an opportunity for businesses to connect and exchange technologies and business cooperation potentials in the green hydrogen supply chain.

Ms Stefanie Peters, a member of German National Hydrogen and Managing Partner of Neuman & Esser, shared that there are over 1,400 hydrogen projects globally and $570 billion in planned investments in 2030. However, only 7% of these projects have been implemented. Hence, developing the prerequisites that allow projects to transition more quickly from the planning stage to the operational stage is necessary.

Ms. Stefanie emphasised that the green hydrogen value chain is very complex, consisting of many tightly interconnected and interdependent stages. Therefore, when developing the green hydrogen economy, an integrated approach should be applied, encouraging the participation of multiple parties and being open to partnerships.

Concluding the workshop, the delegates engaged in Hydrogen discussion and committed to working closely together and joining forces to advance Viet Nam’s green hydrogen (GH2) economy. Moreover, Mr. Markus Bissel, GIZ Project Director of H2Uppp, anticipates that the Viet Nam’s green hydrogen community will develop extensively, with the green hydrogen economy fully established by 2030.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Office of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK) organised the workshop and the GIZ Energy Support Programme and the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) hosted the workshop. Nevertheless, Pacific Group, Neuman & Esser, PV Gas, Dam Phu My, Standard Charters Vietnam, Trung Nam Group, PwC, Siemens, Bosch, VES Lawyers, and many other businesses and organisations attended the workshop.
