Demand Response measures are key to reducing power consumption. During the Energy Efficiency Club (ECC) workshop, EVN Southern Power Corporation encouraged businesses to join the demand response (DR) programme. The purpose was to reduce power consumption during peak hours, ensuring a stable power supply and saving production costs. GIZ ESP assists EEC members through training to adequately equip DR measures. The BMWK affirmed the German government’s support, through GIZ, to the pilot EEC activities in the upcoming period.

Enhanced O&M of solar and wind power plants in Viet Nam holds enormous potential for increased performance and lifetime. During the energy discussion roundtable with the German Industry and Commerce in Viet Nam (AHK) and the German enterprises in Viet Nam, the rising demand for operation and maintenance services for the renewable energy projects to adequately ensure the power plant performance and efficiency were critically noticeable.

Timely finalization of RE regulations (such as DPPA) required to proceed with market development. Generally, vast potential for energy transition investments is commonly seen. However, remaining regulatory uncertainties and inadequate grid infrastructure prevent companies from significantly expanding their businesses. Releasing the Direct Power Purchase Mechanism is an essential step to advance the RE market, accelerating the power grid development.
