On November 24, GIZ and the Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) jointly organized the ‘Green Hydrogen – The energy for a sustainable economy’ workshop in Hanoi.
Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh, EVN’s Deputy General Director, Mr. Markus Bissel, GIZ’s PtX Outreach Project Director, and other experts in the field of green hydrogen. The event is part of the PtX Outreach Project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
‘This workshop is an opportunity for national and international speakers and experts to share experience and have in-depth exchanges on policies, mechanisms, technologies, the mobilization of green finance for the sector and awareness raising about the role of green hydrogen in the energy transition,’ said Mr. Tai Anh. “All the activities aim to promote the development of green hydrogen in Viet Nam”.
Mr. Markus Bissel said, ‘Green hydrogen, with its ability to store and deliver clean energy, will emerge as a game-changer in our transition toward a low-carbon economy and creating new business opportunities.’
‘The workshop will take you on a journey into the world of green hydrogen, highlighting its significance for a sustainable economy and its specific relevance to the electricity sector,’ he added.
During the event, the participants examined the technology of green hydrogen behind its production, storage and utilization, explored how it can be integrated into electricity systems and identified the business opportunities it presents, which could pave the way for a sustainable future. They also discussed the legal framework that can accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen and promote a global market for green hydrogen and its derivatives.
