The kick-off pilot mentoring programme for the Vietnam Electricity (EVN) female talent took place on August 12 under the coordination of the Viet Nam Energy Women Network (VEWN).
The programme aims at supporting EVN’s female staff in personal and career development and leadership capacity through one-on-one mentorship. This way, it fosters a corporate culture of knowledge exchange and continuous learning while encouraging female officials to contribute actively to EVN’s overall development.
GIZ Energy Support Programme and VEWN will collaborate with EVN to design and implement the Programme in two phases. Phase 1 (July 2024 to October 31, 2024) will assess needs, develop the programme’s content, ensure sustainable operation and incorporate digitalisation in implementation. Phase 2 (expected in the first half of 2025) will pilot the programme at EVN’s selected companies.
Based on the pilot result from the kick-off pilot mentoring programme, EVN shall refine and roll out on a wider scale across EVN’s corporation. VEWN will support EVN with development of the programe, matchmaking and training of mentors and mentees.
Ms Maria Clancy, a British Design Thinker and Career Coach, and Ms Tran Hai Yen, a local Organisational Development consultant and Career Coach, will collaborate to design and develop the programme.
Mr Phan Minh Tuan, Head of the EVN International Relations Department, underscored that the EVN management board shall support the programme to achieve its eventual objectives of empowering internal female talents.
The Mentoring programme for EVN’s female talents is implemented within the framework of the Bilateral Climate and Energy Partnership between Viet Nam and Germany, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
