Training for Power System Simulation in the Grid Laboratory: Final day
August 12, the hands-on training for power system simulation in the grid laboratory has completed.
Despite the Covid-19, the one-month virtual course received the active participation from representatives of the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV), dispatchers and experts of the Vietnam Electricity (EVN), National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC), Regional Load Dispatch Center (RLDC) and Power Corporations.
The participants were equipped with a variety of skills and experience in dealing with high share of variable renewable energy (vRE) in operation activities of the power system. In particular, the training offered the participants soft skills and international experience to operate and broadcast issues when conducting power purchase agreements and power market structure of vRE plants. The participants got updates on smart grid technologies and studied to operate vRE plants safely as well as to run power system simulations in the laboratory.
Mr. Tran Tien Hoa, Project Officer of the Smart Grids for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SGREEE) project, said “The training was well-designed, covering a wide range of updated topics, which are applicable to the participants’ daily work. After this training, GIZ plans to support ERAV to host an advanced up training on electricity laws and regulations.”
The course is part of the SGREEE project, which is implemented by the ERAV of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and GIZ. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) funds the project.
